As a result, important legislation on a wide variety of topics has been postponed. A notable coronavirus casualty is a lengthy delay in comprehensive prescription drug pricing legislation.

In December of last year, the House of Representatives passed an ambitious and controversial bill named the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act, or H.R. 3.
