Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation makes call on fourth Covid vaccine dose

6 July 2022 - Australians as young as 30 will be eligible to get a fourth dose of the Covid jab after the regulator ATAGI signed off on an expansion of the program to include a “winter dose”.

Australians over the age of 30 will be able to receive a fourth Covid jab in the weeks to come, although the extra booster will be recommended primarily for those over 50.

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) made its call on expanding the second booster in a meeting yesterday but is still finalising the details of the rollout.
