Boris Johnson today announces a £500 million fund to pay for cutting-edge drugs for cancer and other serious conditions.

In a major expansion of the Cancer Drugs Fund, the Prime Minister will promise to give patients faster access to the ‘most innovative medicines’.

As well as new cancer drugs, the Innovative Medicines Fund will be used to cover emerging treatments for Huntington’s, Motor Neurone disease and potential Alzheimer’s drugs expected to be developed in future.
