20 March 2024 - Abecma demonstrated superiority over standard regimens in the Phase 3 KarMMa-3 trial, with a 51% reduction in risk of disease progression or death and a well-established safety profile with mostly low-grade and transient occurrences of cytokine release syndrome and neurotoxicity.

Bristol Myers Squibb today announced that the European Commission has granted approval to Abecma (idecabtagene vicleucel) for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma who have received at least two prior therapies, including an immunomodulatory agent, a proteasome inhibitor, and an anti-CD38 antibody and have demonstrated disease progression on the last therapy.
