26 September 2024 - The Department of Health and Social Care has asked NICE to produce guidance on the use of cabotegravir in the NHS in England.

For the time being, cabotegravir is not recommended for pre-exposure prophylaxis alongside safer sex practices to reduce the risk of sexually acquired HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents who have a high risk of HIV infection and weigh at least 35 kg.
