Canada decides: Leading parties plan to tackle ways to make medicine affordable

16 September 2019 - Canadian voters will be hearing a lot about a new national prescription drug program to fill a void in Canada's decades-old medicare-for-all system, which does not cover medicine. 

Proponents say that if it’s adopted, it would be the largest new Canadian social program in a half-century.

The Trudeau government has been working on the system’s architecture and promises more details during the campaign, which begins this month.
