Cancer care drug costs concern group

26 April 2017 - Jennifer McGrady has never even touched a cigarette.

But that didn’t save the Halifax mother of two from an aggressive form of lung cancer that required urgent treatment.

“To be told you have lung cancer and you’ve never smoked in your life . . .,” said McGrady.

She faced an additional hurdle waiting two weeks to receive coverage for take-home chemotherapy medicines that can cost thousands of dollars.
