The Cancer Drugs Alliance (CDA) has welcomed the publication of the Report on the Review of Medicines and Medical Devices Regulation, and congratulates Emiritus Professor Lloyd Sansom, AO, and his team on the comprehensive recommendations.

“We welcome the Panel’s recognition of the changing pace of medicine and the need for our regulatory frameworks to have the necessary tools and flexibility to respond to the medicines of the future,” said leading Australian oncologist and co-chair of the Cancer Drugs Alliance, Professor John Zalcberg.

“In the CDA’s White Paper, published in March, we identified the improvements in medical research as a critical challenge for both our regulatory and reimbursement authorities and it is timely that the Panel have recognised the need for improvements in our current system,” Professor Zalcberg said.
