Coalition of attorneys general file third lawsuit against generic drug ‘price-fixing’

10 June 2020 - New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on 10 June, that she and a coalition of 51 attorneys general have filed a federal antitrust lawsuit against several manufacturers of generic dermatological drugs; the suit alleges that the manufacturers are artificially inflating prices and conspiring to reduce competition.

The lawsuit specifically calls out three manufacturers: Taro, Perrigo, and Fougera (renamed Sandoz), who allegedly worked together to minimise competition and drive up prices for topical dermatological drugs.

Other manufacturers named in the lawsuit and accused of price-fixing include Teva, Mylan, Actavis, G&W and Glenmark.
