COVID-19 vaccine weekly safety report (24 June 2021)

TGA

24 June 2021 - Five additional cases of blood clots with low blood platelets have been assessed as thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome likely to be linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine.

When assessed using the UK case definition, three were confirmed and two were deemed probable thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome. However, following reassessment of a previously reported case as being unlikely to be thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, there is only a net increase of four cases.

This brings the total number of cases of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome to 64.
