18 Jul 2015 - CSL boss Paul Perreault has called for Australia to be more outward looking and to think more broadly about its position in a competitive global space.
Mr Perreault, who heads the only Top 20 ASX company manufacturing in Australia, has told The Weekend Australian that while Australia carried a lot of clout globally, policy positions taken could hurt Australia, or if done right, enhance the country’s standing.
He said there were multiple factors that went into Australia’s global competitive position but if it wanted to attract more manufacturing, which has been a key issue for years, then talks around tax settings must continue.
“It (discussions) will evolve over time as Australia needs to reach out a bit more and think a bit more broadly about their position in the competitive global space,” he said.
