Cystic fibrosis scandal: Drugs boss tells boy, 9, he wants NHS deal to save lives
8 July 2019 - The millionaire boss of a US drugs firm has penned a personal letter to a boy with cystic fibrosis after reading of his health fears in the Daily Express.
Dr Leiden personally emailed Tristan expressing his determination to sort a UK drugs deal. The CEO's reply comes after Health Secretary Matt Hancock exclusively told us he was "re-energised" to find a solution with Vertex.
Dr Leiden told Tristan: "Thank you very much for your letter and for taking the time to write to me. I recognise the huge challenges caused by CF and its impact on patients like yourself and your whole family.
