Delays a matter of life and death

1 July 2019 - The shocking news that Aussie cancer patients are facing long waits for essential medicines is cause for concern for us all – and a matter of life and death for those suffering.

The complaints from Cancer Council Australia and Medicines Australia, revealed in The Courier Mail today, must be taken seriously by the government and health bureaucrats.

Drug companies also have a role to play in ensuring fair pricing. At the very least, the warnings should start a national discussion about the costs of treating life-threatening diseases and the speed with which new treatments are subsidised.
