Democrats and Republicans promised to lower drug prices. Instead they've gone up again.

CNN

5 January 2020 - Drug makers hiked prices on hundreds of medications for 2020, just weeks after the Trump administration advanced efforts to curb rising drug costs by importing medicine from abroad but legislation stalled in Congress.

Manufacturers jacked up the list prices on 457 brand name drugs by an average of 5.1%, as of Friday, according to GoodRx, a website that provides cost comparisons and consumer discounts.

The prices of some commonly prescribed brand name drugs are rising even more. The price of Bristol-Myers Squibb's Eliquis, a blood thinner, is going up 6%, while AbbVie's Humira, which treats autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease and is among the world's bestselling drugs, is rising 7.4%.
