Doctors, drug and tech experts converge on Halifax for symposium

13 April 2018 - As a frontline health-care provider and addictions specialist, Dr. David Martell sees the advent of drug therapies as a double-edged sword.

“We all think if you just have the right drug, you can treat anything,” Martell said in an interview Thursday.

“I think that’s the mindset of western medicine and a lot of people are jaded by that. I see the value of treatment partly as taking medicine. I see a lot of the value of medicine is forming relationships with people and helping them in their psycho-social issues.”
