3 December 2019 - US President Donald Trump has reassured the British public that even if the National Health Service was handed to the US in a trade deal “on a silver platter, we want nothing to do with it”.
Mr Trump said he was not going to get involved in the British election, but his statement on the NHS has punched holes in one of the main attack lines of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Mr Corbyn has claimed the US wants to take over parts of the NHS in a trade deal after Brexit, a claim that has been repeatedly rejected by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
