Epilepsy patients 'terrified' after PHARMAC switches funding

14 November 2019 - An epilepsy patient who's been forced to change medication says she's 'terrified'.

Medsafe has received reports of complications after PHARMAC switched the funded brand of lamotrigine to the lowest grade, in the form of a generic drug called

So far, three people have died, but it is not yet known if the deaths are linked to the new drug.

Elmarie Bezuidenhout told Andrew Dickens she's had sleepless nights thinking about it.
