FDA approves first medication to treat severe frostbite

14 February 2024 - The US FDA approved Aurlumyn (iloprost) injection to treat severe frostbite in adults to reduce the risk of finger or toe amputation.

Aurlumyn received priority review and orphan drug designations for this indication.
