FDA approves lurbinectedin in combination with atezolizumab or atezolizumab and hyaluronidase-tqjs for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer

2 October 2025 - Today, the FDA approved lurbinectedin (Zepzelca, Jazz Pharmaceuticals) in combination with atezolizumab (Tecentriq) or atezolizumab and hyaluronidase-tqjs (Tecentriq Hybreza) for the maintenance treatment of adult patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer whose disease has not progressed after first-line induction therapy with atezolizumab or atezolizumab and hyaluronidase-tqjs, carboplatin, and etoposide.

Efficacy was evaluated in IMforte, a randomised, multi-centre, open-label trial in patients receiving first-line treatment for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.
