Gigantism sufferers to benefit from new miracle drug subsidy

14 August 2016 - Australians who suffer from a rare disease that causes gigantism will benefit from a Turnbull government subsidy that will give them cheap access to a drug that normally costs $50,000 a pop.

Acromegaly, a pituitary disorder that causes the abnormal growth of the hands, feet and face, is the same disease that afflicted actor Richard Kiel, famous for his role as the metal-mouthed Jaws in the James Bond films.
