Gilead wins $6 million deal to distribute HIV drug it donated

Bloomberg

28 September 2019 - 4,250 uninsured patients expected to get PrEP for free in next six months.

The HIV prevention drug that Gilead Sciences donated to the U.S. will hit the streets in the next two months after the company won a contract to distribute its own gift.

A deal struck between the Department of Health and Human Services and Gilead on 27 September will accelerate plans to distribute the HIV prevention pills the drug maker donated to support the Trump administration’s plan to end the HIV epidemic. The pills will be made available to health centres using Gilead’s existing distribution network.
