Health Minister Greg Hunt steps in to ensure Meningococcal B vaccine supply

11 February 2017 - Australian kids will regain full access to a lifesaving meningococcal vaccination within weeks after Health Minister Greg Hunt personally demanded the vaccine’s manufacturer boost national supply.

Mr Hunt phoned GSK’s Australian General Manager Anne Belcher on Friday after News Corp Australia started making inquiries on what the government was doing to protect the nation from the horrific strain of the disease.

There has been a shortage of the Bexsero meningococcal B vaccination for over a year and a complete halt on new vaccines entering the country from October.
