Hunter cystic fibrosis patients rally for access to “wonder drug” Orkambi

30 April 2018 - Verity Chappell was “shattered” when she had to puncture daughter Tylah’s 15th birthday with news the government had decided against recommending “wonder drug” Orkambi for listing on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

“It was horrendous telling her it had been knocked back,” Ms Chappell said.

“We were hoping to be ecstatic but we were shattered. Hopefully this time around I can tell her ‘Your quality of life is about to change’.”
