Insurer windfalls aren't a solution to drug prices

1 March 2017 - As President Trump noted in his address to a joint session of Congress last night, health care costs are up across the board. 

In many states, health insurance companies have signalled that they will be leaving the health care market, or at the very least, premiums will be increasing this year.

Low-income or not, cost increases are bound to be unpopular—and the pervasive unpopularity of prescription drug prices has become a rare opportunity for bipartisan agreement. 

Both Trump and Democratic leaders have repeatedly referenced the issue in high-profile speeches.
