7 March 2017 - Health insurers, the state's Insurance Department and pharmaceutical companies with major operations in Connecticut testified against a bill that would require drug manufacturers to justify high prices and double-digit price hikes.
The insurers said some parts of the bill were "intriguing" and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, a nonprofit insurer that covers 1 percent of Connecticut residents, said it strongly supports the main thrust of the bill, which it said could bring "much-needed transparency into the issue of prescription drug prices."
