Italy's block on AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines prompts warning against 'vaccine protectionism' from Australian Government

9 March 2021 - The Australian Government says it wants to build a "coalition of countries" to pressure the European Union into delivering shipments of COVID-19 vaccines as planned.

Trade Minister Dan Tehan said he was "incredibly disappointed" by Italy's decision late last week to block the export of 250,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Australia and is concerned by the possibility it may stop more.
