5 May 2016 - A top health expert has praised the Government's multi-million dollar funding boost to its pharmaceutical agency Pharmac, but says "there's still plenty of work to do yet."
In a pre-budget announcement yesterday Health Minister Jonathan Coleman pledged an extra $39 million for Pharmac.
Speaking on TVNZ's Breakfast today Medicines New Zealand chief executive Heather Roy says the extra cash is "the single biggest injection of money for Pharmac".
"It's a very good start, but there are a lot of medicines New Zealanders are still waiting for," she says. "It's a great start but there's still plenty of work to do yet."
