'Jaws of death': health insurance faces its crisis moment

6 July 2019 - “My goal is very clear, to make sure we achieve the goal of being the best health system in the world,” Health Minister Greg Hunt told the ABC's 7.30 Report on Wednesday night.

Hunt's lofty ambition was offered during a program focused on poor health care outcomes for those who cannot afford private health insurance.

He added in a boast about the government's reforms in the private health insurance sector to address concerns that members are not getting a great deal either.

"The largest reforms in a decade have just delivered the lowest price changes in 18 years, but more importantly still it's been simplified so people can understand it," he said.
