21 September 2019 - Jeremy Corbyn will pledge to abolish charges for all medicine prescribed by NHS doctors, as he puts his party on an election footing this weekend.
Labour has drawn up plans to scrap the £9 charge paid by the majority of adults in England aged under 60.
The pledge, which will be included in the party’s general election manifesto, is to be formally announced on Sunday by Jonathan Ashworth, the shadow health secretary, on the opening day of Labour’s annual conference in Brighton.
