Lawmaker asks Pfizer to make recent rollback on drug prices permanent

16 July 2018 - Pfizer may have appeased President Trump by agreeing to defer substantial price hikes on more than 40 medicines, but that’s not good enough for one lawmaker.

“Instead of playing games with the costs of prescription drugs that millions of Americans depend on, you should make a firm and clear commitment to permanently roll back prices,” Senator Tammy Baldwin wrote in a letter on Monday to Pfizer chief executive Ian Read. 

She also wants the company to lower prices on other medicines that were increased in recent months.
