'Life-changing': calls for eczema drug to be PBS listed to help with mental health

26 February 2020 - While Brooke Field never knew a life without eczema, the severe skin condition has left her feeling "pretty helpless" at times.

Diagnosed as a baby, Ms Field, from Newcastle, said through her life her eczema which can flare randomly and cover her limbs and face has left her bullied at school, unable to play sports and affected her ability to work. All that took a toll on her mental health.

"I had very low self-esteem, and I still have pretty low self-esteem. There were days where I would get up and wouldn't look in the mirror because I was too scared of what I would look like," she said.
