‘Lifesaver’ opioid disorder treatment pulled from Australia

1 July 2026 - Sublocade, used to treat people with opioid use disorder, will be removed from the PBS and all Australian shelves at the end of 2026 for commercial reasons.

GPs working in addiction medicine have sounded the alarm after learning that Sublocade, described as a ‘lifesaver’ treatment for opioid use disorder, will be removed from Australian markets at the end of the year.
