The Australian heads of two of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies have described the plight of seriously ill Australian patients who cannot access affordable innovative medicines as “catastrophic” and warned some of the world’s cutting-edge therapies will not be available in this country in future amid broken medicines subsidy processes.
