Medical groups call on MPs to back 60 day prescribing as Labor backbench wobbles
10 June 2023 - A Coalition of peak medical groups has launched a campaign in support of 60 day prescribing of common medicines in an attempt to counter what they allege are the “scare tactics” of the powerful Pharmacy Guild amid lingering dissent over the policy on the Labor backbench.
In an open letter to parliamentarians, the groups – led by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners – called on MPs and senators to “put consumers first” and back the policy.
