23 September 2020 - From 2 June 2020, patients who pick up prescription drugs at pharmacies can switch to an equivalent drug that is included in the high-cost protection.
The change must be made even if the medicine on the prescription is not included in the high-cost protection, which means reduced costs for many patients.
Prior to 2 June, pharmacies could only replace prescription medicines within the high-cost protection. The change has taken place as a result of changes in the law that also make it possible to exchange so-called infection control drugs.
