MS drugs to stay on PBS after stoush over pricing

17 July 2026 - Key medicines for multiple sclerosis that were under threat of withdrawal will remain on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme after resolution of a showdown between drug companies and the federal Health Department.

Health Minister Mark Butler has announced that the medicines Ocrevus, Kesimpta and Lemtrada will remain on the PBS after experts on the nation’s independent medicines approval committee advised their clinical benefits justified ongoing public subsidy.
