29 May 2021 - Three years after the original proposal, the European Union’s game changing Health Technology Assessment dossier has at last reached inter-institutional negotiations, but a number of challenges remain.

This important piece of legislation is aimed at helping European Union countries determine the effectiveness and value of new technologies and deciding on pricing and reimbursement by health insurers or health systems.

Health technology covers medicines, medical devices and diagnostic tools, surgical procedures, as well as measures for disease prevention, diagnosis or treatment.
