3 December 2025 - An immunotherapy treatment for a potentially disfiguring form of head and neck cancer has been added to the PBS, changing prospects for patients.
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a solid tumour cancer that forms in the uppermost region of the throat before spreading through the jaw and neck, is for the first time treatable with a subsidised immunotherapy from this week. The antibody treatment toripalimab, sold by Indian pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s Biologics under the brand name Zytorvi, was on Monday listed on the PBS.
