4 November 2019 - PHARMAC will fund a new leukaemia medicine, which will improve the quality of life for roughly 150 patients in the next year, and roughly 200 the following year.

It brings the total number of new cancer medications funded this year to three.

Health Minister David Clark said venetoclax was "proven to give people more time without their leukaemia getting worse, and has improved overall survival rates compared with currently funded treatments".
