New PBS listing for nitisinone (Orfadin) for the treatment of hereditary tyrosinaemia type 1
21 July 2026 - On 1 August 2026, nitisinone (Orfadin) will become available on the PBS for the treatment of hereditary tyrosinaemia type 1 under certain circumstances.
Access to nitisinone for new patients under the LSDP will cease from 1 August 2026, with transition arrangements in place to facilitate access through the PBS for patients currently undergoing treatment.
