NICE Medtech Early Technical Assessment tool to form part of government grant application process for health care product developers

NICE

15 March 2018 - The Medtech Early Technical Assessment (META) tool has been selected , as an option, to form part of the application process for a £1 million grant for developers of innovative medicines, diagnostics and regulated digital technology in a real world clinical setting.

This follows the recent announcement from the Office for Life Sciences in partnership with Innovate UK that it will invest up to £1 million to help small and medium sized companies generate an evidence base for their products so they can be evaluated for use within the NHS. The support will enable companies to collect and analyse clinical performance and cost effectiveness data within an NHS setting.

As part of the application process companies will need to provide details of the gap analysis of the clinical performance and cost effectiveness of their products and the NICE META tool is recommended, as an option, to help with this part of the application.
