NICE proposes to recommend another treatment for people with multiple myeloma
21 March 2014 - In new draft guidance published today (21 March), NICE has recommended bortezomib (Velcade) as a treatment for some patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.
This appraisal examines the use of bortezomib in combination with dexamethasone, or with dexamethasone and thalidomide for the induction treatment of adult patients with previously untreated multiple myeloma, who are eligible for high-dose chemotherapy with haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (bone marrow transplant).
