One in three teens at risk of cancer because of lost vaccination papers

13 February 2017 - Up to one in three teens are missing out on life saving vaccinations against cervical cancer, whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus because parental consent forms get lost.

Health experts are warning the problem is putting the health of teens and babies at risk and they want governments to use technology to fix the problem.

Text messages sent to remind parents about the vaccines and a standard national online immunisation consent form to streamline the process are needed to bring the program into the 21st century, they say.
