Orkambi: Hunt PBS comments raise cautious hope
30 May 2018 - There is very cautious hope in the region’s cystic fibrosis community for access to a life-changing drug, as the federal health minister shares his optimism about critical talks.
A decision is looming in July about whether Orkambi will be listed – and made affordable – on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has said in interviews he is “very, very, very hopeful” and “very optimistic” the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee will back the Vertex-manufactured drug.
