15 January 2021 - The Public Summary Documents (rejections/deferrals/other matters) from the September 2020 PBAC untracycle meeting are now available.

There are two new Public Summary Documents:

• Agenda 11.02 - A request for the PBAC to consider the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine’s (ASHM’s) proposed change to Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme prescribing criteria for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis medications in response to the 2019 ASHM PrEP Guidelines. The PBAC recommended the continued PBS listing of tenofovir disoproxil with emtricitabine for pre-exposure prophylaxis against HIV infection and further recommended the restriction level be reduced to a Restricted Benefit to support broad access for patients who are at risk of HIV infection.
  
• Agenda 11.03 - A request for the PBAC to consider proposals from the review of the Palliative Care Schedule (PCS), in relation to the retention, deletion and amendment of items on the PCS.  The PBAC recommended the deletion of bisacodyl, diclofenac sodium and indomethacin from the Schedule. The Committee also recommended the listing of a few medicines and revisions to the several current listings.
