PBAC recommended new medicines yet to be listed on the PBS - the ones that missed the cut

MAESTrO Database

3 April 2019 -  The Government's dubious claim that it is averaging 31 new or amended listings per month, approximately one per day, does not extend to following medicines that have been recommended by the PBAC since 2017.

  • Tenofovir alafenamide fumarate (Vemlidy)
  • Canakinumab (Ilaris)
  • Radium Ra 223 dichloride (Xofigo)
  • Ranolazine (Ranexa)
  • Ramucirumab (Cyramza)
  • Sarilumab (Kevzara)
  • Encorafenib (Braftovi)
  • Binimetinib (Mektovi)

Some of these medicines were recommended on the basis of a comparison with a low/lowest priced alternative.

Three medicines just made the cut and will be listed on the PBS on 1 May 2019:

  • Avelumab (Bavencio)
  • Inotuzumab ozagamicin (Besponsa)
  • Palbociclib (Ibrance)
