PBS Expenditure and Prescriptions Report (2021-22)
21 December 2022 - The PBS Expenditure and Prescriptions Report 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022 is now available.
Total PBS Government expense for the supply of medicines under Section 85 and Section 100 on an accrual accounting basis for the 2021-22 financial year was $14.7 billion (excluding revenue), compared with $13.8 billion for the previous year. This is an increase of 6.7%.
Total 2021-22 PBS subsidised prescription volume increased by 0.7% to a total of 215.0 million, compared to 213.6 million for the 2020-21 financial year.
