‘Pharmacies are ready to go’: Chemists in hotspots fast tracked to deliver jabs
16 July 2021 - About 70 pharmacies in Sydney’s COVID-19 hotspots have been fast-tracked to administer AstraZeneca jabs from next week, with another 365 chemists in metropolitan Sydney and surrounding areas set to follow within the month.
The delivery of thousands of doses from the federal government to NSW community pharmacies is a new phase in the vaccine rollout as the industry’s peak body says more convenient and after-hours access will boost vaccine uptake and help combat the city’s growing Delta outbreak.
