The Department of Health will hold an Opioids Roundtable meeting in Canberra on Wednesday, 27 May 2015, to assist the PBAC to form recommendations to the Minister on the PBS listings for opioids. The opioid group of PBS subsidised medicines includes, but is not limited to, morphine, oxycodone and codeine. The Roundtable aims to bring together health professionals, researchers, consumer groups, industry and government to seek ways to reduce regulatory burden on health professionals, improve patient care, and to continue to manage the risk of opioid misuse and diversion.
