7 June 2016 - This letter to the Editor of Value in Health Regional Issues for Asia responds to a recent article on the registration and reimbursement of certain medicines for patients with cancer in Australia.

This topic is of considerable public interest in Australia given the current Senate inquiry on timely access to new medicines for patients with cancer on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. I have a number of concerns with this study.
